Seeding Some Purple Kush

by AutoAdmin

I wanted to start a new strain and decided to seed some Purple Kush from Canada. This was a very long and drawn out grow that ended up outside for the summer.

The seedling setup. This turned out to be a bad idea as these domes require a full slate of cubes to keep humidtiy balanced.

Around this time I also started generating my own compost tea.

First Harvest

by AutoAdmin

Decided to flower out the hermi’d plant. In the end this turned out to be a mistake that effected future grows with stray pollen. Went through the standard harvesting process.

The plant pulled from the closet.

Up close flower.

First branch.

Curing above the light was a rookie mistake but I had no other options.

Shocked Sex

by AutoAdmin

As happens at least once to every cultivator, lack of knowledge on understanding lead to a shocked plant. I first noticed the male sex traits around the 20th but continued growing for the experience.

Male flowers started growing due to light shock.

Still grew the flowers out 5 days later.

Project Trestle Light

by AutoAdmin

In the first attempt at innovating cultivation technology, single tube T5 fixtures are added to the edge of the trestle.

The added lighting projects a more full canope to the plant.

The first flower had started to form.

The fixtures were projecting the light inside the plant.

First Clone Repot

by AutoAdmin

The clones were ready to be repotted but haven’t never done it before a single one was attempted first.

Setting up to repot a single clone.

The root zone has developed enough to grow in soil.

Planting the first clone. Notice the green algee issue I had with the rockwool.

Repot completed.

2 days explosive growth after repot.

Project Trestling

by AutoAdmin

After getting close to the light again the plant needed a trestle in order to bring the branches back down.

Laying out the materials. Bamboo for the sides, mesh netting for the middle.

Threading like it’s sowing.

Tressle completed.

Training Day

The plant began to grow close to the light and it was time to start training it to grow within the space it had.

Project CO2

by AutoAdmin

A project going into homemade supplemental CO2 manufacturing. Creating some CO2 generators using yeast and sugar. Placed in a grow with bad air flow they can increase growth by replacing the CO2 the place consumes.

Just add hot water to sugar and yeast.

Perfect water temp is key.

Mixed and bubbling

Placed inside the grow.

Clone Trials

by AutoAdmin

By late January began the first attempts at cloning. Propagation of your strain for repeat results is an important aspect of cultivation. Supplies were ordered off Amazon and a small space was setup in a different room for the clones to root.
